02-Mar-2020 Reliance Industries, Coal India and Escorts to see some action today <p align="justify"><strong>Reliance Industries</strong> (RIL) has acquired 37.7% stake in Alok Industries for Rs 250 crore. Alok Industries has allotted 83,33,33,333 equity shares of Rs 1 each at a premium of Rs 2 per equity share for cash at total consideration of Rs 250 crore to the company. Alok Industries has also allotted 250,00,00,000, 9% Optionally Convertible Preference Shares (OCPS) of Rs 1 each for cash at par, for a total consideration of Rs 250 crore to RIL.<p align="justify"><strong>Coal India</strong> has reported rise in its production by 14.2% to 66.26 million tonnes in February 2020. The production in the same month a year ago stood at 58.05 million tonnes. Coal offtake during February too increased by 6.8% to 54.97 million tonnes as compared with 51.46 million tonnes in the year-ago month.<p align="justify"><strong>Escorts</strong>' Agri Machinery Segment (EAM) has sold 8,601 tractors in February 2020 against 7,240 tractors sold in February 2019, registering rise of 18.8%. Domestic tractor sales in February 2020 at 8,049 tractors registering a growth of 16.3 percent against 6,918 tractors in February 2019. Export for the month of February 2020 at 552 tractors registering a growth of 71.4 percent against 322 tractors sold in February 2019.<p align="justify"><strong>Gillanders Arbuthnot and Company</strong> has entered into an agreement for sale of tea estates with Jutlibari Tea And Plantations LLP, Assam, on February 28, 2020.
