02-Apr-2020 Tata Power's arm completes sale of South African JV 'Cennergi' for ZAR 155 crore <DIV align=justify>Tata Power's subsidiary -- Khopoli Investments (Khopoli) has completed the sale of its entire stake in Cennergi (Pty) (Cennergi), a South African joint venture to Exxaro Resources (Exxaro), for an amount of ZAR 155 crore and normal working capital and other adjustments.<BR><BR>Cennergi was a 50:50 joint venture (JV) between Exxaro and Khopoli, a wholly owned subsidiary of the company. Exxaro is a leading South African coal producer. Exxaro has acquired the entire 50% shareholding of Khopoli and will now have 100% ownership of Cennergi.<BR><BR>Cennergi owns two wind farms -- Amakhala Emoyeni (134.4 MW with 95% shareholding) &amp; Tsitsikamma Community Wind Farm (95.3 MW with 75% shareholding) -- in South Africa. 30-Mar-2020 Tata Power's JV commences commercial production in Georgia <div align="justify">Adjaristsqali Georgia LLC (AGL) a joint venture (JV) between Tata Power, Norway's Clean Energy Invest (CEI), and International Financial Corporation (IFC) has announced the start of commercial operation of the 178 MW Shuakhevi Hydro Power Project (Shuakhevi HPP) located in southwest Georgia. Further, AGL will be soon commissioning the 9 MW Skhalta Hydro Power project which is also a component of the overall Shuakhevi Project scheme.<br><br></div><div align="justify">The project will generate around 450 GWh of clean energy to reduce the emission of greenhouse gases by more than 200,000 tonnes a year. Tata Power Club Enerji, which one of its most successful sustainability initiative has brought in 533 participating schools across India that has saved 29.8 million units of power since it started in 2007. 12-Mar-2020 Tata Power's Powerlinks sets up exclusive training centre in Varanasi <p align="justify">Tata Power's Powerlinks Transmission in collaboration with The National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) has set up an exclusive training centre in Varanasi for widows under Ministries Affirmative Action Initiative to facilitate employment-oriented skill training programme. <br></p><p align="justify">The centre has been inaugurated as a part of Tata Power's DAKSH programme - an employability initiative for women and youth in rural India. Around 15 women with over 95% attendance were provided with sewing machines. 11-Mar-2020 Tata Power holds Mundra UMPP shut-down till March 20 <p align="justify">Tata Power has put its decision to shut operations at its 4,000MW Mundra ultra mega power project (UMPP) on hold till March 20, 2020 in expectation of an acceptable solution for all parties over pass through of higher coal prices.</p><p align="justify">Earlier, Tata Power's arm Coastal Gujarat Power (CGPL) which operates 4,000MW Mundra plant had served notices to discoms of Gujarat, Haryana, Rajasthan, Punjab and Maharashtra stating that it will stop supplying power from the plant from February 29 if tariff is not increased.
