15-May-2021   10:21 Hrs IST Gold futures end higher on Friday, marks second straight weekly gain <DIV align=justify><SPAN>Gold futures ended higher for second straight session on Friday as the unexpectedly muted US retail data weighed down the dollar and US treasury yields, bolstering the yellow metal investments.&nbsp;The dollar index shed 0.4%, making bullion cheaper for those holding other currencies. Gold for the most active contract marked second consecutive weekly gain, of about 0.4% registering highest weekly gain since February.</DIV><DIV align=justify><SPAN>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV align=justify><SPAN>Gold futures for June climbed by 0.8% or $14.10 to settle at $1,838.10 an ounce on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile. While, spot gold rose 0.6% to $1,838.05 per ounce.</DIV><DIV><BR></DIV>
15-May-2021   08:03 Hrs IST Crude oil future end significantly higher on Friday <P align=justify>Recouping previous session's losses, crude oil futures ended significantly higher on Friday largely due to short covering. Expectations of increased demand for gasoline in the US in the coming weeks, and a weak dollar contributed as well to oil's uptick. Worries about rising coronavirus infections in India limited oil's rise. Traders also followed reports about resumption of work at Colonial Pipeline, which reopened earlier this week after a cyber-attack had prompted a shutdown. According to a report released by Baker Hughes, the number of oil and gas rigs in the United States increased by 5 this week, to 453.<P align=justify>Crude oil futures for June rose $1.55 or about 2.4 percent to settle at $65.37 barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. July Brent crude gained $1.65 or 2.5 percent to settle at $68.70 a barrel on London's Intercontinental Exchange.<BR>
